pregnancy. Eating dry foods like biscuits,
bread without getting out of bed, eating
lesser amounts frequently; avoiding from
fried and sauced foods, consuming foods and
beverages like mineral water, boiled
potatoes, rice, yoghurt, salty chick pea may
be beneficial. It generally
disappears by decreasing after 3rd
week.

pregnancy due to hormonal effect. General
hygiene rules like changing underwear daily,
making toilet cleaning from forward to
backward and only with water and not washing
inside of vagina must be complied with
during pregnancy.
· Frequent Widdling:
Frequent widdling desire may occur during
the first half of pregnancy due to the
change in kidney blood circulation and
pressure of baby on bladder during the
second half due to hormonal effect. Searing
while widdling and change in urine color are
symptoms of infection.
· Varsity
formation: Varsities may
occur on legs, small and big labiums (labium

enlarged uterus. Avoiding from standing up
for a long time, wearing varsity socks,
relaxing legs by lifting up and making leg
exercises can be recommended in order to
decrease varsity formation.
· Leg cramps:
It occurs as a result of disorder in mineral
balance during pregnancy. Leg massage, heat
application and sudden stretching movements
should be avoided.
· Constipation and
hemorrhoid: It appears due
to slowdown in stomach and intestine
movements and pressure of enlarged uterus.
Taking plenty of water, consuming raw fruits-vegetables,
not delaying toilet necessity, making
regular walking and taking iron medicines
with plenty of water with full stomach may
decrease severity of this problem.
· Sensitivity on breasts:
Using underpinned bra in proper sizes and
cold compressing can be recommended.
· Swelling on body
(edema): It appears
water retention on body due to hormonal
effect. Edema which occurs only on legs
during late periods of pregnancy does not
require treatment. If edema appears on face,
hands and legs in morning times, doctor
control is required. Avoiding from standing
up for a long time, not wearing tight
dresses and relaxing by uplifting legs can
be recommended.
